Lately I have felt that Marc needs to get in to see the Doctor. He has had some lingering aches and pains that need to be taken care of. While there his blood pressure read high. First time it was 133/92 and the second was 122/94.
As a child, well before obesity, Marc had high blood pressure and was on meds for a time. As an adult he has only, so far, had to be on meds for about a 6 months period back when he was at U of I. We keep an eye on it but this is the first time it has been that high in a long time.
The doc knew about Marc working on his weight loss. But he said that it was now time to up his game. Marc is required to workout 4 days a week, for 45 minutes to start and then work himself up to 5 days a week, for an hour. The doc doesn't really care what he does as long as it is a high intensity cardiovascular activity.
Fast forward to this morning. Yes, we were up at 4:45am to work out. We actually made it. Marc has two weeks of this working out to see if it is enough to start making a difference. If not, he still has to exercise but he will have to start blood pressure medication as well.
We are really trying to avoid that. This means that we are now getting to know the butt crack of dawn on an intimate basis.
The first two weeks are the hardest. Or at least that is what I keep telling myself to get through.
